I've been practicing yoga for about 5 years now and I cannot say enough about it!
Besides the physical benefits like increased flexibility, core strength, toned muscles, and joint repair; yoga also encourages self acceptance and positive thoughts, increases energy throughout the day, de-toxifies and de-stresses the body, and gives you a sense of peace throughout your mind.
Here are a few basic poses that I enjoy:
Warrior 2 Pose
I have been practicing yoga at Fresh Yoga in New Haven. They offer an array of different classes including my favorites Hot Power Yoga and Power Vinyasa. The facility is wonderful, so relaxing, natural, and fresh feeling. I recommend taking classes with Peg- she is sweet and an extremely skilled yoga instructor.
When I am at school in New York I usually take classes at Yoga to the People in the East Village. This is professional certified facility filled with talented yoga instructors, and the best part is that the classes are only 5 dollars each!
